About the business and how it got started :

“I decided to start Wakyah SG after my parents decided to close their shop as my late dad was diagnosed with cancer in mid 2018. As you know, cancer treatment requires alot of money involved despite getting financial help from the hospital. Our sales were doing good during the circuit breaker period, alhamdullilah. We usually takes in order for weekends since i’m working from monday-friday.

After my dad passed away last year July, my mum wanted to stop the business. But she wasnt coping well with my dad’s dismissal as she is often alone while im at work, so we decide to resume back the business to keep her occupy during the day. So on normal days, she will spend her day time doing the epok-epok and i will do the packing after coming back from work. The routine continue every week 😅

Other than selling frozen epok-epok, we also do take in orders for small events such as birthdays, henna night, solemnization etc.”
